What is SICTED?
A project designed to improve the quality of tourist destinations created by the Spanish State Department of Tourism (SETUR), with the support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which aims to achieve a homogeneous level of quality in the services offered to tourist destination visitors. It includes up to 37 different trades and business activities, in an effort to enhance visitors’ experience and satisfaction levels.
This participative model requires member tourist businesses to commit to tourism quality at their destinations. It offers a training plan comprising 27 modules – available both in classroom and online mode, technical assistance visits by SICTED consultants, workshops addressing issues and widespread discussion groups, task forces to develop proposals for improvement of destinations and assessments to ensure compliance of tourist services with established quality standards, all with a view to securing the Tourism Quality Commitment hallmark.
Benefits for tourist destinations

• Enhances tourists’ satisfaction and helps foster tourist loyalty.
• Increases the involvement and participation of businesses in the tourist development of the destination.
