Church of Saint Mary Major

This church is part of the Majorcan Baroque style (1706 to 1893). It was designed by the architect Jaume Blanquer and built from the second half of the 16th century to the 17th century. The characteristic features that stand out are the neoclassical façade, Mere de los Ángeles group of sculptures, covered with a half-barrel vault with lunettes.

Influential works of art are also preserved, such as the Gothic panel of Saint Mary of Inca, painted by Joan Daurer in 1373; the statue of Saint Mary Major, by Pedro de San Juan (14th-15th centuries); the Renaissance Sweet Name of Jesus (1587) and Saint Peter (16th-17th centuries) altarpieces; The baroque Saint Sebastian (17th century) and Holy Christ (1667) altarpieces. You can also visit an interesting museum in the old sacristy located on the left side of the presbytery.
