The Sant Bartomeu Monastery

The Sant Bartomeu Monastery is a Baroque construction (1667-1702). Notably, cloistered Hieronymite nuns have resided here since 1534. The remains of Sister Clara Andreu y Malferit, a prominent nun of the community, are preserved inside. Its most characteristic features include the portal with a semicircular arch leading into the courtyard, a courtyard featuring an old hackberry tree and a cistern, a church with a single nave divided into four sections with very small side chapels, and a barrel vault ceiling.

Inside the monastery, various artworks are preserved, such as the Holy Christ of the Blood (14th or 15th century), the Baroque altarpieces of the Virgin of the Candelero and the Holy Family (17th century), two Gothic panel paintings by Pere Terrencs (15th century), and valuable paintings by the Llopis, father and son (16th century).
